Strange places to fly into Thailand from and how are they allowed?

So all the people that arrived from overseas tested positive?

เด่วบล็อก

Many peeps are furious simply because Thailand has no or very little of local transmission. What’s wrong with them?

OMG ! The Wuhan flu is still here ?

Ohhh give it a rest ay ffs

Soon..the case will be 4000

10 in, 10 out. Impressive. 🦠🧑‍🔬

How many of the local population are being tested? Just because the hospitals are fine it doesn’t mean a strain of the virus isn’t in the community..... I’ll only believe the figures when I see mass testing like Europe. At least 100,000 per day. Only then will a true factual figure can be obtained. Plus why isn’t there mass testing regardless?

It’s easy for Thailand to say it has almost no infections !! ...look at the statistics ...the reality is that they have only tested 0.014 % of the population ! .. only 14,000 people in every million has been tested !

Does anyone know if a thai person flying out of Thailand to Switzerland with SWISS has to show a negative COVID test result at Suvarnabhumi's check-in counter ? Thanks !

Flooding control?

Farang experts begin all silly comments..........................................NOW!!!!

Klong Saen Saep is big enough. Thonglor to Central World - “The Golden Walk”. Will be amazing. Central Group

Would be nice to see all those stinky canals cleared up

I'm pretty sure the result will be nothing like the image displayed...

With traffic on both sides, how are pedestrians expected to even get to the canal safely? And once there, they will enjoy the smell of fetid water and exhaust fumes from cars stuck in traffic jams...

Excellent. Hope there are more such public space developments around BKK.

The water is black like oil last time I saw it. Will make for a pleasant stroll... 🤣

Hopefully the government will revamp and clean all the canals... they have been an integral part of flood management and transport in days gone by. This would be a huge step forward 🙏🏻

Once again

Did you notice that many network cables/wirings on the main roads they already put underground?

Laughing stock when there is no control from source of pollution.

Hopefully opening up the waterways again will also help drain the rain waters away

When I saw the picture, I immediately thought of Paris or Richmond Upon Thames but then I read the title and couldn't stop laughing...

We really need more public space. Hope Sanam lung open up as public space again too

Interesting. A lot less space to work in than Cheonggyecheon and also there is no elevation gain in the Sathorn Khlong.

Karine Nguyen omg si seulement ... 😍

Good idea but it’s not wide enough to have a stream and sidewalks on both sides. I say keep it as it is for water drainage use, elevate the middle portion to 1 meter above the road as public park and plant more trees. Try fixing the sidewalks first and remove power lines and obstructions in the middle of sidewalks. I see they are already re paving a big part of Sukhumvit sidewalks.

Good move as it's in dire need of a makeover

Not run out of money yet?

I like chong nonsi area, the canal is awful, any improvement will be better than it currently is

Very much doubt this will happen at all. Maybe the end of a few years time more like

It's full of toxic sludge, what are they gonna do about that?

Hi. PM you. please check.

I lived near the ghost tower for 6 months in 2019. That canal there stinks. Nice idea to renovate but how to clean up the water?

No single vote can make a difference. What most Americans don't understand, let alone non-USA citizens, is that an election is not decided by the popular vote. It's decided by the electoral college.

I think that USA needs to change the way to vote and that you are showing to the world that you are not a well organized Society. It is years that you are destroing what you represented for the Free World ( and make super happy the enemies of a Free World ). Do not feel offended, it is the reality but you can change it for better or enter in a future that it is not difficult to see will destroy your country.

It would be nice if HM met with the protesters. I can't say more for obvious reasons folks.

The electoral college has a major flaw. States are each allowed to dictate how their electoral votes are allocated to the candidates. Some states allocate their electoral college votes based on the actual vote count, splitting the electoral votes based on the vote count for each candidate, but other states, like California, give all their electoral votes to the candidate with the majority of votes. Last election 43% of the voters in California voted Trump, but because HRC got a majority of popular votes, all California electoral votes went to her, meaning those voting Trump were not represented. There is also no requirement that the electoral college vote based on popular voting. They can completely ignore the state vote, and cast their electoral vote anyway they want. This is the flaw in the electoral college voting, as it is not following uniform rules in each state. They can each make up their own rules.

Idiots still blaming the rain for floods, when deforestation is the cause... 🙄

Real news: Burger King in England is promoting McDonald's.

Please check my pm. thank you

Every vote counts.

Roughly 9 Million U.S. citizens live abroad and are eligible to vote. Their vote counts towards the states tally where these expats held their last registered residence. Roughly 20,000 U.S. citizens have lived in Thailand pre-Covid. To suggest this number distributed among all states would have a significant impact on the election is laughable. Most aren’t even from swing states.

MAKE LIBERALS CRY AGAIN...555555

Does not matter who wins, the world is heading for the next Great Global Depression.....and then a World War....because that is how humans roll!!!!

How many of these positive cases are actually ill in hospital, or just tested positive?

Do you know Richard if any tourists have managed to get into Thailand yet using the STV besides the Chinese tourists?

If they are going to be collected the next day what difference does it make what materials you use?

Gemma Mcewan

Bet they don’t say how much money they say they got off them

Bravo Thailand!! Great effort. The planet appreciates your effort.

Yes.i agree to floating one krathong per family and i did.

Thailand going green cool

My local park was full of Krathongs this morning. Some still out floating. The saddest part was seeing several dead fish, something I rarely see there. Last year alot of the Krathongs were made from fish food which made a lot of sense and obviously less cleanup but this year I didn't see any like that.

How did they collect and summarize the data so fast?

Good News i like it

why not float something that the fish can eat.

Somphop Eak

Wow!! Some positive news for Thailand

This is great, now to get them without nails and staples.

Fabian Ryser

Nice

How weird, mine was supposed to be all natural, but when you looked more carefully you could easely find a lot of plastic on it.....

That’s fantastic 🎉🎉👍🏻🎉🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳

Thats good going to count half a million in 6 hours and work out the percentages...maybe they borrowed the calculator from the TAT!!

I got to the point where anything the government says is BS. Hard to know what to believe from them.

I wonder if they were ALL natural materials. Even ones made from the banana stalks still have no end of staples or pins in them.

Bas Cotton - great na

Is the wax natural?

Only 10% of Bangkok float one? I hope the uncollected were not all foam.

Bored farangs start whingeing................... NOW!!!

Very good to hear. I like the krathongs from natural materials much better, by the way.

Bullshit, it will hurt Thailand no doubt, how can it not

Reciprocate by getting rid of the ghastly franchises like McCrap, KFShite, Pissahut. No need for Apple when Thais are in bed with Huawei.... (good for future police state). So, with all the capital expenditure carried out using v high interest rates from China, why does Thailand need 2 Shylocks?

Some irony in this is that 1 in 4 pigs produced in the US is done so by Chinese-owned corporations.

Nothing hurts Thailand. Tourists not coming, embargos, nothing. The untouchable nation with pinnacle politics and bright politicians.

"Special" handout for Phuket? Spoiled as **** down there! lol!

Offcourse it hurts Thai exports!!! Especially right now

A country should have the ability to control the import of food with additives to protect the health of their citizens if they choose to. Increases in duty are passed on to consumers. In America trump discovered this. If this affects purchaser's decisions THEN there may be some effect here in Thailand.

Wait for the coup in a few weeks. They will cut trade off all together.

Most Thai exports go to China.

Thailand don't care about America, especially now that its fallen to its knees. They send most stuff to China. You're reading the wrong data. You're not getting the post of Facebook Marshall.

Some sheep might actually believe it.

No tests, no infections

But still only 59 dead.

#india❤️🙏🙏❤️???

Still just the flu

No test, no statistic How many people get sick? Real statistic is so high cost for country, Thailand needs investment for Submarine is number one!!!

I was reading that Pakistan had it early on, tried a lockdown then gave up after a week let it run and never had much of a problem despite no serious containment efforts. Are there Pakistanis entering Thailand? Noticed you mentioned 1 case from there.

It doesn’t matter how many people get it!! Track how many people get the flu and I guarantee that number is a hell of a lot higher!! Not to mention, almost all of them are recovering!!! So, you’re shutting down your country just so people don’t get a friggen cold, that couldn’t be more ignorant!! I’ve been trying to get there with a business partner to look at buying a hotel and we can’t because of this ignorance!! Thailand’s BS infection numbers are useless anyway. If people aren’t being tested then the numbers will stay low. The numbers aren’t low because you shut the entire country/economy down! They’re low because testing is extremely low! Well done Thailand, you’ve destroyed your economy which thrives off of tourism and you’ve ruined the lives of thousands of your people just trying to feed their family!!! Pat yourselves on the back, you should be proud!! Quit destroying the local’s lives and re-open! Let the millions of people that want to spend money in your country do just that!!! Who cares if a few thousand people get sick. They’ll get over it in a few days and still be able to maintain their lives, family, businesses and put food on the table!!!! I am baffled as to why you think this is the proper way to handle this!!! Ignorance at it’s highest level!!!

Be clever....be the first that stop this stupid bulletin

Fake, nothing new.

Last few days 1 case import from thailand to malaysia. But donno how really about that. Cause thailand are no local case.

Well said Chris

Absolutely brilliant 🥴...This history is getting funnier day after day...looking forward for more news 🥳

I had Thailand on my plan for 2021 but not with this arm tracking device. I might just sit a home or go elsewhere.

They are “developing” a smart band, to be used from Nov 1. They had better be quick with the development then ! But I guess they will not need to actually make many, will they ?

Another plan doomed to fail before it starts 😂😂

People have been buying and using smart watches in the West for years quite voluntarily and they have the same functional capabilities as the device shown here. Is it just the fact that you will be made to wear it that is so unpopular? Personally, if it helps in any way with the fight against covid and keeps a bit of normality going in our lives, I cant see a problem.

Heart rate gonna be sky high when they on kamagra at nana plaza.

My mate in Thailand says no need for a tracking device. Just get a Thai girlfriend. She will know where you have been. 🤣

If I wanted to wear a leash I would’ve been born a dog

Treating your visitors as criminals surely will make your country very popular. 😜🤪😡 They already were doing some of that with their archaic and annoying 90 day notification, but this really takes it to another level. Stupidity knows no limits in this country...

The idea of tagging tourists goes back several years. Well before covid.

And you think the quality tourists will arrive in their private jets for this? 🤣

So basically something like an Apple Watch for every tourist?? How much is that going to cost? 🤔

Thailand has been open to tourists requesting the STV since November 1st, because the embassies in Italy are unable to give answers.

Yet another reason to go elsewhere.

I was awaiting for the track health band since the outbreak...here it is

Just relax, there won’t be any Westerners welcomed in anyway

Does it work underwater? I know a few divers that would find the get home feature useful 🤣

So, that means I will only visit again when this is not mandatory anymore.

Triggers an alert above 37.5'C ? They are up for a few "beep" in April !!!

Is it to monitor for Covid or is it just to keep track of the visitors whereabouts? Will the tourists have to wear it untill they leave the country? What about returning Thais, will they need to wear for tracking/tracing covid?

We have a lovely little dog on my wife's farm. This will make a nice collar for him while I visit.

I see the news.... Medical teams heading to a Pattaya Gogo Bar and find a foreigner with higher temperature and higher heartbeat as a result of a private lap dance he is just about to receive🤣

Don’t understand the need to be tracked after quarantine honestly they are just making it less attractive for people to Come to Thailand

Corruption for dummies: 1. Become responsible person for something new 2. Make a deal with the supplier to inflate the quote 3. Split the difference with the supplier

It’s going to work as well as Thai Chana ~ nobody(not the tourists nor the officers supposed to be monitoring it) gives a damn.

Any chance of monthly updates? Rather than totals? Anyone viewing these figures for the first time might get the wrong end of the stick

Seems to me as a Nation, Thailand has beaten the virus, there's been thousands of people demonstrating together on the streets for weeks around the country and no reported C19 backlash.

I just went to the Phuket emigration office they are closed tomorrow!

The Prime Minister said the same thing in 2014

The Bangkok Post has to walk a very fine line if you are aware of the law here

See if that is confirmed by the bosh..

News Editors have to present reports within the restrictions placed upon them by the authorities , a difficult situation

Didn't know Germany also have Elite visa 😂

Thank you Richard, now I can read the Bangkok post at home in Montreal, Canada. I'd like if you can show us the Bangkok post more often. I used to read the Bangkok post every morning at breakfast when I was in Thailand. You always show us very interesting pictures and subjects. So long!

When they say no coup, that's it. Just you wait.

Do we know how long protests will take place on Silom ?

Humpty Dumpty talking fake news again lock him up oink oink.....

I know a lot of you don't find the Bangkok post to be credible at all so here's a better source: www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/10/29/germany-does-not-believe-thai-king-breached-state-business-ban

As BKK Post no longer a trustworthy news source and they keep reporting biased news many times, perhaps Richard should consider moving to other news channels which are more reliable and trustworthy.

The Thai king does not travel to Germany from time to time. He has lived there for many years already. Bangkok Post does not report the truth.

There wouldn't be a coup last time either...

At first, they will say no coup. Later after they stage the coup, they will say it is necessary.

no coup, army commander insisted. circa 2014.

There is no need for coup - thus “ no coup “, because “ German Govt clears HM king’s visits” = ie protestors’ request denied and on their own demise

"Don't believe anything until it's been officially denied."

"The King visits Germany from time to time". It's well known he spends almost all his time there. Why does the Bangkok Post print lies?

Sondhi is calling for a military government to overthrow itself? Crazy even by his standards.

Fake news all bullshits today

Actually the most important information is in very small size, page 2: " Cabinet extends emergency decree".

“The governor gave his assurance that medical facilities on Koh Phangan are adequately equipped with healthcare services amid concerns of any fresh outbreak of Covid-19.” 😐😐😐😐😑

I delete again richard post with bangkok post news.....

BP is the same as the fake news of CNN and MSNBC. Always one sided, never objective news reporting. Technology and the media is running the world and they're just getting started. FB, Twitter, Google, YouTube decide what they want you to see. Anything that does not fit their agenda is removed or hidden.

Bangkok Post showing more misleading photos of royalists. Show an aerial photo. There were like 100 people. This is borderline Fake News

So funny how everybody seems to discover disinformation and propaganda under the new brand "fake news". They've always been there guys, it literally never ever stopped.

Let's keep up the great work curbing the spread of COVID and allow foreigners to enter Thailand from the 30+ safe haven countries!

Hi Richard, As I understand it, the test they use is the PCR Test which even my cat knows is not designed for covid diagnosis nor is it at all accurate. So, how on earth can they know? It's a bit like an electrician using jumper leads for a flat car battery to test the circuit board in your house. It's impossible. So, How can these cases be accurate or even cases at all. Considering the government's around the world are locking everyone down based off the inaccurate results of these tests, and they damn well know the results are not correct or could ever be, using the PCR Test. Then you post these incorrect figures Richard and spread the lies on behalf of the Thai Government. They're using you to spread more fear and lies mate.

Regarding the French person that test positive on Samui, it doesn’t matter where they came from or what visa they used. It is the efficacy of the 14 day quarantine that is the most important issue.

Thailand hotspot

Definitely not false positives?

Fälle insgesamt seit Jahresanfang offiziell nur 3759

That's 3 people from France within a few days ? I thought people from high risk countries were not allowed in Thailand??? I must have read a wrong information! Very strange though

We like to read updates about people lives solved, with this disgusting paranoic fear of dying from a virus !!! Many are suffering, with small business gone forever, so, not talking about good solution to locals have their life back, and others important issues, as roads deaths and menthal health, leading people thinking about suicide ! This is turning on circles...

This is how the fear mongering and mass hysteria against foreigners travelling into Thailand is created . The Thai government are creating an anti foreign sentiment .

many dont care about many things....sad...

Is this still a thing 🤔

Keep them boarders shut coz I’m not coming again until August 2021 (hopefully) so for now do as you please Complete joke to be honest

Hmmmm...

Update daily deaths on roads in Thailand. How many injured. Etc.

What does this say about ASQ if these were truly international travellers, other than it's not working?

Wooghh 13???

Every country reports however they want to suit their needs. Still amazes me how covid respects borders. Must be using Google maps because most Borders are invisible. have you seen the border to Myanmar? Aside from the patrolled crossing, Nope , nor has anyone else. But covid knows not to cross. Clever.

It’s always doubled standard.

HEEY... Before I was on Amnesty VISA, then i fix "Medical Visa" from 26 September and for 90 days forward.. Its possible to update my stamp also so starts from 1 November and 90 days forward or only for other people with 30 days extension?

Today is Oct-28

Thanks for the update! I extended my visa before the official announcement. Still waiting on approval for the renewal stamp in Phuket...

There is some visa agent trying to sell extensions until Dec 30 for 9000B advertising on the expat groups. So you can get that free now.

The new 60 days amnesty cost 1900 baht

Jennie Williams

60 DAYS EXTENSION AFTER AMNESTY PERIOD (NOVEMBER 1 - DECEMBER 30) Go to your Local Immigration and ask about Covid -19 Extension. Fill out the form. 1. TM.7 (provided by the immigration office) 2. STM.2 (provided by the immigration office) Provide the following: 3. 2x1.5inch photo 4. Copy of Passport pages with stamp 6. Receipt of Address Notification. ❌5. Letter from your Embassy. (No need to provide) Pay 1,900THB IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY EXISTING TYPE OF VISA OR VISA EXTENSION AFTER THE AMNESTY PERIOD, YOU WILL BE FINED 500THB PER DAY

Is immigration still operating muang thong thani or are tourist extensions being done again chaeng watthana?

Me too..why aliens...its so bad words

Enjoy your stay

May Faiza Rosas

Still a bit confused, If you are someone who recently got the 30 day extension prior to the 26th Sept cutoff, AND then also took advantage fo the 'free' date change until Nov 30. I would think this does NOT apply to us. However as per it's wording, its very inclusive and almost seems like it applies to everyone ??

I paid 1900 bt until the end of October. Do I pay again for a 60-day extension?

Do you still need the letter from your home country embassy? Because I know 100% the Irish aren’t giving out any 🤦🏻‍♀️

What if the immigration can't process the visa extension on time again due to overcrowd, those take queue to pay but overstay.. How?

Huh!!! Aliens. Blimin heck!!

I did in Phuket all the officers are very nice!!! 🙏 Very easy to make it!!!

nothing but joke this immigration.

Hello Richard, do you know why 90-day report website link is always not working?

Songkhla immigration don’t know about this 🤦🏼‍♀️

“aliens”

Meeting !!! The statement ! The general said i am the boss. Better you listnen to me and get togheter

A Little bit too much infighting and demanding answers to questions Do Not Like

Is that a false positive test or a positive positive test? Who knows!

Wish that panel would include an Expat resident representative!

"whether the French woman was allowed to pass on the infection to two others" - Hi stranger, can I pass some coronavirus to you?

What nationality was the covid case? I somehow missed it the first 6 times the BP referenced it... 🙄🙄🙄

thethaiger.com/coronavirus/100-test-negative-after-koh-samui-covid-19-case The woman, born in Thailand, was repatriating back to Thailand with her family. She has dual citizenship. Richard Barrow in Thailand I would suggest you to switch to The Thaiger which probably is a more reliable, more valuable, more accurate and less biased source of information than BP. STOP BLAIMING THE CAUCASIANS

So now we know how a Thai becomes French. Test positive for covid... I wonder if she can still own land here...

“...investigating whether a 57 year old Thai national, born & raised in Thailand, whom also now holds French citizenship through marriage, patient who tested positive...” FIXED. Bangkok post you’re welcome 🙏

Again, the minions are front and center. 🙄

Alex Face gets around a bit but all of his street art is magnificent and worth seeking out. This is in Phang Nga town.

(1) Mardi ‘History of Mining’ – in this painting Mardi reflects on the history of Phang Nga during its mining heyday. Map: goo.gl/maps/Tmhyrj3SdEAzhg93A

(2) Mardi ‘Lion Dance’ – here Mardi is a lion dancer on a wall opposite a Chinese shrine as an ode to the Chinese community’s long history in Phang Nga. Map: goo.gl/maps/tiTAoYkq3SUSMn9r5

(3) Mardi ‘Memory in the Bottle’ – Mardi wears his signature fluffy outfit looking at a Chinese junk in a bottle reflecting the long history of trading between Phang Nga and those from faraway lands. Map: goo.gl/maps/5wswsBWAJ7R2YRRMA

What’s with the extra eye/ pair of eyes ? Scary

Kira van Horsen He wat jammer nou, nu moeten we wel weer naar Thailand toe!

Passive.

he s having a solo show at city city on the 31st..

The Phuket architecture is god awful ugly. These murals compliment many others in Phuket town that make legitimate photo backdrops. More should be encouraged.

Amazing i love his stuff and Bons to. About ten years ago the powers that be made him take his stuff down in Phuket. There was a quick about turn though when public outcry worked.

That same kiddish cartoons similar to Thai temples with their smiling faces of doll dwarfs screaming of laughter. Peculiar and eery.

Finally some not covid related bs

you didn't go to Bangkok?

I’ve seen his work, been wondering who the artist was for a while, thanks!

Seems nice. I saw a picture of one of these pieces somewhere recently but I can't remember where 😁

I don't know Alex Face personally but he went to my daughter's school to talk about his art and created a very passionate interest in art and street art in many students. Maybe the photos should not only include the Richard Barrow in ... but also Alex's name?

Amande

Why is he wearing an allseeing eye on top??? Weird figure.

This guy had done some tags around my neighbourhood!!!

I got a picture of one of these he did in pattaya

Love these, especially the top left one....these are great!!

Why wear the mask if borders are controlled so well? 👏👏👏 In Chiang Mai, no case since APRIL 14th! Seems rather silly to wear a mask. PLUS world wide fatality rate has shrunk massively; becoming more like the flu.

#stoptesting

3.551 hospital discharges.

I went to a graduation in Bangkok for a big university and 95% of everyone there was not wearing a mask or social distancing. I actually took photos which included either city officials or big wigs in armed forces not wearing as well.

How are 136 still in hospital, when there are only 3 cases a day, no cases for 100 days odd, and recovery is a week????? Something doesn't add up!!!!!!!

BS

If you have no symptoms are you actually ill? Until March this year the answer to that question was "No".

No protest news for a few days. ..did our hand get slapped ?

Never going to be contained. Will be endemic if it isn't already. As with other colds they keep mutating. Face it. People need to look after their health and countries need to ensure healthcare systems are up to task.

There are so many studies showing that masks don't help against a virus, and masks are bad for your lungs. Especially here in Thailand, the masks are made by themselves, on every street corner. they have no medical purpose at all. I only wear a mask as rarely as possible, and when I do, only out of respect, because I am a guest in this country for example at very crowded places, temple, or BTS... I'm not an expert, but a lot of experts and virologists prove that covid 19 is just moderate flu and nothing more and nothing less. I'm not going to discuss that here either. This only represents my own opinion.

Scam China covid

Great figures Thailand is to be congratulated Unfortunately complacency is setting in. Many people are not wearing masks or social distancing. I was in a Temple in Chantaburi on Sunday where at least 50% of the people were not wearing masks. Very sad to see.

Xenophobia!

If a Thai citizen with a Thai passport wants to return to Thailand it is really much easier to do so as a Thai even if they have another country passport. The only reason to make it more difficult and use the non Thai passport would be if their Thai one was expired. Most Thais with a 2d passport don't even mention it. So much easier for Thais to go home than for foreigners to enter Thailand.

“His Majesty the King travels to Germany from time to time.”? It has never been a secret that HRH spends the majority of his time in Germany

Bangkok Post, the newspaper you CAN'T trust! Tired to read this propaganda, clearly pro regime and ultra royalist. They also contribute to spread fear about the COVID to please the real winners in this crisis. Is there an alternative news source to this piece of sh..?

Do you see pressure on whom ?...not on the pm....german audit who ?

“... Travels to Germany FROM TIME TO TIME...” 😂

PM is not who the petition puts pressure on. But perhaps Post doesn't want to say whom. Summary above is incorrect but I understand why.

Germany cd do with a few billion atm

I love how the media and government refer to the woman as Frenchwoman, when she is clearly a Thai woman with a French passport. I bet if she did something amazing like save someone’s life they would refer to her as Thai.
